Boxing enthusiasts have much to look forward to in 2020, with some tasty title fights on the cards.

Junior Welterweight Title

To start the year off in style, boxing fans will already have February 1 marked in their diaries. This is the date of the much-anticipated fight between Jose Ramirez and Viktor Postol. The winner walks away with the junior welterweight title. The action will be taking place in Haikou, China, and is over 12 rounds. Ramirez is the current titleholder and will be hoping to retain his belt. However, his Ukrainian opponent will be no walkover, having been the light welterweight titleholder in 2015.

European Super Middleweight Title

The following week, February 8, sees the exciting spectacle of Juergen Brahmer versus Emre Cukur, for the title of European Super Middleweight, which is currently vacant. Again, over 12 rounds, this exciting match will be taking place in Goeppingen, Germany and promises to be a sell-out. Brahmer may be considered a little too old for this challenge at 41. Still, there is no doubting his credentials as former light-heavyweight world champion.

UFC Welterweight Title

Although no date has yet been announced for this bout, it is already being eagerly anticipated. Raising the hype is Jorge Masvidal, who plans to challenge for this title in 2020. The current champion is Kamaru Usman, who is now number 10 in the UFC pound for pound rankings, and will be difficult to beat. Before Masvidal gets hit shot at the title, he is destined for a rematch with Nate Diaz, the 34-year-old Californian.

Whether you prefer boxing, mixed martial arts or other fighting sports, there is undoubtedly much to look forward to in 2020. Plenty of title matches are sure to be announced soon, with the rush for tickets being unprecedented in these thrilling sports.
