Cyril Gane commented on a possible fight with Ngannu

Promising heavyweight prospect Cyril Gane (7-0 MMA, 4-0-UFC) took the biggest win of his career last weekend, finishing in the second round of ex-UFC champion Junior Dos Santos.

However, despite his success, Gane is in no hurry to throw up challenges, since this is not his style:

“I don’t want to challenge anyone,” Gane told reporters after defeating Dos Santos. “You know who I am. I am ready to fight anywhere and with anyone. I just want to do my job. And that’s all.”

One of the potential fights that many are predicting for Ghana is a fight with Francis Ngannu. But given that both heavyweights train in the same MMA Factory in Paris under coach Fernando Lopez, Gan says he will only accept the fight if the division title is at stake.

“If the UFC does this fight, then please do it with a belt at stake. Because, you know, we are from the same gym, we have one coach.”

Dana White discusses the future of Junior Dos Santos in the UFC

UFC President Dana White believes former promotion champion Junior Dos Santos should consider retiring after losing early on to Cyril Gahn at UFC 256.

White also said that he sees no problem with stopping the fight, which Dos Santos tried to protest, stating that his opponent stabbed in the back of the head.

“You can tell me whatever you think, but I saw with my own eyes that Junior was very shaken,” White said. “He was shocked and almost walked away, turning his back on the opponent, while Cyril threw punches and then punched the elbow. They fought there. You turned your back and he accidentally hit you in the head.”

Recall that Dos Santos has not won since June 2019 and is on a series of four early defeats, losing to Francis Ngann, Curtis Blades, Jairzinho Rosenstruyk and now also Ghana. Given that the UFC management recently decided to thin out the organization’s roster, the Brazilian is likely to become a free agent soon.
